Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player won his initial championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor Cervara.
Presently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from March of the previous year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an better serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five games to take the lead.
The pair traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour title, took control to create a decider.
Moutet saved 4 initial break points in a tight final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner earned the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
